That's where the light gets in...

Everyone has a story to tell. Experiences that they choose to forget or something's they drag along with them into the present, but yet choose not to talk about them. Hiding them in the back of the closet hoping no one will notice.

A lot of people don't want to talk about it through embarrassment or anger. Choosing to lock it away and never open it up for discuss
ion again. Others know they need to either let go or embrace the chapter, realizing it's only a 'small part' of their story.

                   One
thing I tell people so often is that we should not be ashamed of our story.
                                                                          Never be ashamed.

Yes it may of broken you into a million pieces, but as you built yourself back up you will find yourself stronger. At the time it's so hard to see, but when you look back you'll notice I promise.

It's the difficult times that help us grow in leaps and bounds. The moments that push our backs against the wall and right then we know we have to make a change for the better.

These are the moments that the universe chooses to reroute us almost like a sat nav in your soul. Always guiding us to something better, but these chapters often leave a scar that's invisible to the naked eye. Yet still we feel it's pain.

In society today we commonly choose to keep our stories quiet. Choosing to only share the chapters of light with others, rather than those of darker shades. I'm all for a positive mindset but in this case the vote of silence needs to change.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold or silver. Believing the cracks make the piece more beautiful. Imagine painting your scars on your body and the dents in your story with gold. Imagine sharing them openly with others. What a change that would be for all.

What I'm trying to say today is share your truth with an open and honest heart. There will always be someone to listen. Learn to be proud of your story. The good the bad and the ugly. It's all part of the journey.

If sharing helps just one person on their way then it is worth speaking out. Even if that one person is you.
But I guarantee the ripple effect won't just stop there.

It's how you learn, how you grow and become a better version of yourself. Without light what are we? Cold dark and alone. So share your stories. Paint gold over the cracks and be proud of the person you are today, right now in this moment.

The cracks are where the light gets in. Don't ever forget that.
