![]() When we interact with other people we exchange energy. You might not be able to see it but we all know it’s there. It’s that feeling when you walk into a room knowing someone has just had an argument or when you just know something is about to kick off. You sense it. Imagine it’s an invisible hose attached between you and another person every time you meet. The energy flows between you. Some people drain your energy through ‘poor me’ behavior. Others may drain you with their ‘Debbie Downer’ talk. Then of course there are the people who everyone loves to be around. Those that fill you up and give you the good vibes. Everyone wants to interact with them. They are the one with people always gathered around them at a party. Think about the people you are hanging around with. Family, friends, work colleagues. Who makes you good to be around? Who pulls you down towards a lower vibe? Have you been spending time with more of one type than another? They probably don’t know they are doing it. But some people do and we call those ‘energy vampires’. They drain you of every last drop of your energy until you leave their company feel exhausted and well you guessed it..drained. Other general things that can drain your energy are.. -Family Drama -Loss of a loved one -Over working -Stress -Even your partner or kids can drain you. It happens all day every day. The biggest thing you can do is notice it and learn when is a good time to interact with these types of people and when you really have to say no. I’m not saying avoid your kids and hide in the bathroom. Well of course you could. In fact we probably all have at least once. I’m just saying if you are drained then you need to look at where the energy is going. We’ve all heard the saying “Fill up your own cup first”. But what it doesn’t mention is that we should only ever be giving what’s left in the saucer to others. Give the over flow. If your can do this you’ll notice a huge difference. Look after your energy. It’s up there in the self care to do list. If you ignore where your energy is going it runs wild like a child that hasn’t had an afternoon nap and then passes out at 5pm in tears. Nobody wants that. Here are 5 things that may help.. Zipper- Up : Zippering up is a way you can protect yourself from negative energy. Imagine your self in a bubble from head to toe in a color of your choice. This is all about intention. So visualize yourself in your protective bubble before you leave the house. If you struggle with visualization then the other trick is to use your shower gel as your go to. When you cover yourself in bubbles in the morning imagine you are now safe and protected from negative energy. Crystals for High vibes and anxiety- Amethyst is the ultimate healer and will help with an over active mind. Rose Quartz to attract peace and love into your life. These two can be carried with you or places under your pillow. And yes they are the perfect for beginners. Self Care- I cannot stress enough the importance of self-care. It’s essential for any mumpreneur. We push ourselves so far and give so much to our business and our families that we really need to schedule in time for us. Long baths, quiet walks or just a coffee as the sun comes up in silence. Make sure you are filling your cup with some you time. How you do that is your call. But it’s a must so put it at the top of your to-do list. Journal: If you have anything to get off your chest then write that junk down. Get it on paper. Set light to it if you don’t want it hanging around the house. The importance is that you don’t keep your feelings/stress/worries and thoughts inside. Tell a trusted friend if you can but if not a journal is the perfect alternative. Grounding: When we feel out of sync and drained we are often also disconnected from the earths energy. To reconnect you can do this in several ways. My favorite way is to place both feet firmly on the ground (ideally outside) and visualize roots coming from your feet into the ground as deep as you can imagine. Then visualize white light coming from your earth up the roots and filling your body. Step Back- My number one tip that comes before all of the above is to take a step back from the person or situation. Ask yourself “Do I really need to be involved in this? Or is this someone else’s drama that they are trying to suck you into?”. Perhaps you need to stop getting so involved and leave their people to it. The same with negative people. Limit your time with them and if you are already stressed or tired then reschedule. Your mental and physical health should always come first. Oceans of Love Cx |
