Do you feel it too? That heaviness. Like the world is just... a lot. The endless noise, the opinions (so many opinions!), and the constant go-go-go of modern life. It’s as if we’re all walking around with invisible backpacks, filled with pebbles we didn’t even know we picked up. And somehow, we’re supposed to keep our footing. To stay steady. To stay kind. To stay... human.
Here’s the thing: most of us are so focused on protecting our physical and emotional selves that we forget about the third piece of the puzzle—the one that holds the others together. Our spirits. Spiritual protection. Let me preface this by saying that many in this industry fall into two categories when it comes to this topic. A lot of people will boldly claim that if you focus on "the love and the light," no harm can come to you. Hate to tell you, but that isn’t true. So why aren’t we talking about it? Maybe you’ll think we’re unsafe? Funny, because if you’ve ever worked with me, you’d know I’m all about safety first. The wolf in me doesn’t simply lurk in YouTube comments for no reason. Maybe it’s because talking about the practical stuff isn’t flashy. It won’t earn you likes on Instagram or TikTok to discuss entities or darker energies. But protection? It’s the quiet armor you wear when no one is watching. Without it, even if you aren’t a practicing witch or don’t consider yourself spiritual, energy affects everyone. It can leave us more than a little exposed. Vulnerable to the energy, fears, and expectations of the world. And oh, how the world loves to project its mess onto us. The Wake-Up Call Back in the autumn, I was swiftly reminded that not everyone can see or feel spirit the way I can. This means I take protection a little more seriously than alot of others I’ve sat in circle with. There’s nothing quite like coming face-to-face with an energy that doesn’t have the best intentions to remind you that every once in a while, you open a new doorway inside of yourself—and that doorway needs a new level of protection. Why We ALL Need Spiritual ProtectionWe live in a world of leaks. Social media leaks into our self-worth. News cycles leak into our peace. Other people’s pain leaks into our joy. Before we know it, we’re carrying sadness that isn’t ours, absorbing judgments we didn’t agree to, and drowning in overwhelm we don’t understand. And that’s before we even scratch the surface of opening circles, sitting in ceremony, or practicing rituals. Energy is everywhere, and it takes a simple thought to open the front door to a multitude of things. Here’s the truth: we weren’t designed to carry all of it, no matter how much we stretch our bandwidth. But if you don’t build boundaries—energetic, emotional, and spiritual—the world will decide for you. And the world is not gentle. Spiritual protection is how we reclaim our power. It’s how we say, “This is mine, and that is not.” It’s how we decide what gets to enter our inner sanctuary and what stays outside the gate. The Basic Practices That Keep Us Safe Now, let me stop you before you start spiraling into, “Oh my God, I don’t have a spiritual practice, and now I’m doomed!” No. Stop. This is not about rules or rituals you don’t connect with. This is about you. Your energy. Your wholeness. Spiritual protection isn’t about escaping the world. It’s about being in the world with your spirit intact. And here’s how we can start: 1. Quiet Time Is Holy TimeCall it prayer, meditation, journaling, or sitting on the floor with your coffee—what matters is the intention. Give yourself space to hear your own voice. To feel your own energy. To ask, “What do I need today?” and actually listen. 2. Set an Energetic BoundaryPicture yourself surrounded by light. Any color you want. This is your shield. It says, “I am here, and I am safe.”Visualize it when you step into hard conversations, crowded spaces, or moments that feel like too much. Your energy is sacred. Protect it. 3. Return to Your BodyThe world pulls us out of ourselves—into screens, into stress, into other people’s expectations. When you feel untethered, come back to your body. Breathe deeply. Stretch. Dance. Feel the ground under your feet. You belong here. 4. Release What’s Not YoursAt the end of the day, imagine yourself emptying that invisible backpack. Shake out the doubts, the anger, the exhaustion. Say, “This is not mine to carry.” And let it go. Protection Is an Act of Love Here’s the secret: spiritual protection isn’t just about keeping the bad out. It’s about making room for the good. When we protect our spirits, we create space for joy, connection, and love to thrive. And isn’t that the point? Not to survive the world, but to live in it fully. To find the magic, even in the mess. To hold onto ourselves, even as we hold space for others. So today, I ask you: how will you protect your spirit? What small act of love will you give yourself? Because you, my friend, are worth protecting. And the world needs you—the real you, the whole you, the untouchable core of you. Stay steady. Stay kind. Stay human. Let’s keep the conversation going. How do you protect your spirit? Drop your thoughts below—I want to hear everything. |
