This was not entirely how it went down, lying in a stone circle with symbols being carved into our backs with a sword, surrounded by hundreds of spirits all cheering in celebration is only the tip of the iceberg. However on this occasion, it is not solely my tale to tell, so we will have to wait a while for integration and maybe a year or so for things to settle before I will share the ceremony in its entirety. After a week at Home Ed camp with my favourite people, telling jokes around the campfire, sleeping in a field next to a stone circle here is what I can share.
This circle was not one of our elders, however, its intention was no different, Standing here for a little over twenty years, this space has shown me that although there is of course a wisdom we can lean towards from ancient sacred spaces. The new is equally as important as the old. We need both to move in the correct direction for Gaia as well as humanity. As I have sat in this circle each morning and most evenings the message is of clarity. I needed to come here to see how the land ‘should’ feel in its entirety. Limetree is a place of balance between wildness and gentle tending. I now carry this as a guide for future work on the land. As if it is imprinted in me this year from solstice to Mabon. A stone circle of the future, a barometer for the land we not only want but need. I ask you this Mabon week…What is the land like where you are? Does it hum that perfect tune of harmony? Do the trees whisper in the wind? Are the sharing their words of wisdom with you or their words of sorrow and frustration? If we listen to the earth with no agenda, you will see that she is always trying to communicate with us. There is always an exchange waiting to be made. She needs jus as much as we need her. I’m sure I will be back with morse insight from last week. For now I’m back and I have a bunch of ideas on how we can each make a difference to this galactic ascension. Oceans of cosmic love Cx Limetree Farm is a family-owned campsite with an observatory, stone circle, natural spring and vast woodland to explore. The Edwards family and camp dragon always find our annual visit as if we are in some small way returning home. My gratitude to Ceryn Rowntree for joining us this year with all her magic, patience and humour. Limetree we will see you 2022. |
