When someone hurts you...

Firstly it fuckin sucks when someone hurts you. Fact.

 Sometimes you know the reason it came about, other times you can't quite figure out why or how this happened. It's like someone letting a door slam in your face. You lose balance, finding yourself on the floor looking a little gobsmacked.

Bruised and shaken you pick up your things, drag yourself up from the floor & scurry off to your safe place. 

                                              Then you must heal..

There is no rushing this process, it's a mixed bag kind of ride. No ones healing is the same. But over time the pain does numb. 

The bruises won't be there forever but you may find the memories will stick around for the duration. 

Then it happens.....one day as you are going about your week, you seem to pick up the pace and then you catch a glimpse of the old you.

Only now there is a difference...

Now you hold your own doors. 
Now you always walk in front. 
Now you will not be lead by anyone. 

People that have been deeply hurt are easy to spot. I bet you all know at least one. They are the ones with the best stories to tell. They are the ones that pick others up as they go. They are the ones that learnt that they must be themselves no matter what. 

Their wings may be a-little ruffled but I guarantee you they are the ones that fly the highest.
