Healing the land is a phrase you will hear me sharing over and over. However I think it is beyond time we talk more deeply about this fluid topic. But first a little warning of sorts..There is no one way suits all. Different lands and spaces not only bring to the table different energies but also require different forms of healing, so please bare this in mind as we proceed. As long as you intentions are of the highest good and you are working safely then you should totally trust your method and intuition. In many ways Healing the land is a lot like healing the energy field of a person. Healing is for anyone. With practice we all have the capacity to heal ourselves and the land. If you of course feel that you would rather seek it from another then go right ahead. However here I say that we can all not only reconnect with the spirit of the land but we can also Sometimes the how actually feels more difficult than it is and the media doesn't really help with that does it. Truth is we have a lot more control over healing than we are being told. Firstly we all have intuitive sense and we really need to normalise this. We are all able to pick up different things outside of our standard senses and the more we are able to practice that the stronger it gets. You have possibly heard that your intuition is like a muscle and I couldn't agree more. The more we practice the better we get at receiving these signals and the more we openly share with others the more connected we all become to each other and to Gaia. You really want to get a good sense of what are your own feelings and how your body feels day to day. If this is something you already do then great! If this is entirely new to you then I recommend you drop a pin on this and take sometime to really explore what is happening inside of you before you go onto healing the land. This is purely because it is so much easier to do this work when you have a solid foundation and understanding of yourself, and if you consider yourself an empath then you 100% need to pause and honestly ask yourself if you know your own body and emotions well enough to do this work. I don't say this to put anyone off, I say it because it is super important to do this safely and by firstly getting to know yourself you are not only doing yourself a great service, but also your community and the land in which you reside. Once you feel comfortable to move on then let's talk about prior planning. Prior Planning : Before the visit I like to look at the space I intend to visit on a map. I love a visual as you'll soon realise and I have found that this method works for me as I then can sketch gridlines on it and if symbols drop in or hot spots I can mark them before I even leave the house. You may find the spirit of the land gives you information before you even get to the site . Gathering anything you need a couple of days prior to your visit gives a nice amount of time for you to get an idea of what is going to happen or at least where you are heading with the healing needed. I like to do this for the above reasons but also because it in some ways gives spirit a heads up that I am coming. Note: I know this is not always possible, I've been there. You are driving along and you come across a space or you have just left lunch in a lovely village and the land beneath the church is pulling you in to clear it. It happens and that doesn't always leave you time to print off a map. Again trust yourself, there are many ways this works. You could be sending a valley some love and healing as you sit in the passenger seat of the car. Your energy is healing whereever it goes and sometimes prior planning isn't needed or isn't allocated time for. Step One: Before you tune into the land you need to clear your own energy, get grounded (use the element method we use in our project earthwork meditations) call in your spirit kin and guides and of course protection. I use a column of golden light, my daughter uses a pink bubble that shes been using since she began nursery. Your intention is more important here than the exact method, so use what feels good for you. I really want you to tune into your own energy here, this is going to help you to not only remain energetically safe but also support you in your discernment of what is your own energy and what is coming from something externally. "ask to only speak to the land guardian or steward. This ensures you get to the spirit who's role it is to commune on the land"-Step Two - Tuning into the energy you are feeling. What is it you are feeling? How it got there and any other important info that could be helpful. You should also ask what needs to be done to support the space or remedy the issue. Then I like to ask to speak to the keeper of the land. This is uses a spirit that tends to a large space and they generally know whats going on in the area and of any wider issues. I recently met a keeper of the land who shared with me the mine network and how its energy was effecting a nearby stone circle. These conversations are usually very firmly set with boundaries. You only want to speak to the keeper of the land at this time. I say this because you don't want to be bombarded with different spirit and energy all at once. It's not fun and certainly not going to benefit the land. Boundaries with spirit is about equal respect. "I am here to listen to you and you only, I devote these moments for you to show me what you think is important for me to see ".
Quite often the keeper of the land will walk with me as I explore, which is useful as I have usually got questions. Having these boundaries creates a safe space for you to work with the land. Never assume that a space needs healing. You may ask and here a reply of "No thanks we are good". Not every site is needing to be healed and also not every healer can heal every site. Certain people bring an energy that is needed at certain times. Tip: Spirits communicate through words & feelings and visuals. so check all of your sense. Don't rely on certain ones as different energies use different paths of communication. I once connected with a land steward who seemed to communicate with scent. This mean't I was asking questions and I would smell Lavender for 'Yes' and some sort of bitter scent for 'No'. Luckily the prep for this adventure was extensive and I had been dreaming of the site for over a week. So please go into this with all your scenes available. Lastly I want to remind us all that the more we do this work the better we become at it. Every situation is unique and the more you trust your intuition the easier and more enjoyable this becomes. Step Three - Have you asked.. "Does this need healing? and Am I the one to do this healing?". These are key questions. We should never assume we are the 'chosen one to heal something'. As my husband always says "Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!". So ask the question. If you hear or feel a 'Yes' then its over to you. Healing work is as creative as it gets. Sound Healing - Tuning the land or singing a healing song can break up heavy energy or of course there is light language. Drums or rattles - A traditional way of working with the heart beat or you and the land and breaking up energy. Crystals - Perfect for resetting grids and attuning the frequency of trapped energy or on a map if the site is bigger. Reiki or Healing - Don't be afraid to use your hands. I will often use my hands to weave new energy or repair the old. There are so many ways to heal the land. You working with energy and it has no limitations. If in doubt ask your guides and the Keeper of the land. Aslong as you leave things safely. Portals closed if they are requied to be closed etc. Finally the important things to remember - Before you open a portal or gateway ask "Who will take gaurdianship of this?". I say this as in my early days I was overly keen to be of service and was left with a gateway open for 30 days and 30 nights. Luckily it was local to me. But however I always recommend when you open anything you ask If you are going to be closing it on the same day or if there is a spirit that will tend to it for the future. (Nothing to be scared of, I just like to be as open and honest as possible witht these things). Lastly ensure you leave only natural offerings, show gratitude and cut your energetic cords with the landscape before you leave. Then take sometime to check in on your own energy. I like to call in my guides to just check that energetically I have done everything I need for my own energy hygiene. That is about as much as I can tell you. I have never met a land healer that works the same or a space that needs the same symbol in the same place. I hope this helps if only a little and from my heart to yours with oceans of Love thank you. Cx |
